ANSAR2023 Reunion
Welcome Remarks
“…A heartfelt and warm welcome to the 20th celebration of ANSAR, a reunion of Anguillians, Nevisians and Kittitians who have lived abroad and who congregate every two years in a different country to reunite, reminisce, celebrate, sell or purchase locally crafted items and learn more about current issues affecting their lives and the development of their beloved homelands. This time, in July 2023 I extend to you a special sunshine welcome to the shores of our beautiful island of Anguilla.”
Thank You!
On behalf of the Boards of the Anguilla Progressive Association of New York, APANY and the Anguilla Nevis St. Kitts Association Reunion, ANSAR, we the members of the Anguilla based Steering Committee express our sincere thanks to all those persons who contributed in one way or the other to making the Reunion the great success that it was. In his closing remarks, the President of ANSAR described the weekend of activities as a gala affair, and for this we thank you publicly…
In 2023, I had the honour of being the keynote speaker at Ansar in Anguilla. The experience was exhilarating, enveloped by the warm embrace of the local community with a heartfelt welcome that made everyone feel like a reunited global family. The entire weekend, flawlessly organized by the American team under Carlson Connor, left a lasting impression. Any concerns about expenses faded away with the tranquil beauty of Anguilla and professionalism of the host team.
The event wasn’t just about picturesque landscapes; it was about forging meaningful connections. The relationships formed are ones I cherish for life. My hope is that the shared knowledge during Arkansas goes beyond information, becoming a reality for uniting Anguilla, Nevis, and Saint Kitts. This vision of Inter generational Communication and knowledge Transfer from the senior diasporas and the Caribbean youth could serve as a beacon for the Caribbean and beyond. Looking back, Ansar in Anguilla 2023 was a weekend of unity, inspiration, and progress. The spirit of togetherness and optimism lingers, with the potential to catalyse positive change throughout the region.

I write this testimonial with reference to ANSAR2023. There are Reunions and then there are Reunions; and ANSAR2023 depicted a reunion for one to remember that was held on the beautiful island of Anguilla. The organizer left no question in my mind that they put their all into this reunion that has made it a memorable one.
Cultural performance was excellently displayed, the meetings and greetings were warm and embracing, the food deliciously prepared, the gala décor was breathtaking and the singer for the gala unmatchable.
Having ANSAR2023 in Anguilla was the perfect place to be held, especially after the experience of COVID19. Being in Anguilla reminded me that no matter how small a place or the gathering, we are united as one people and that ANSAR must go on keeping our heritage intact.
Congratulations to all the organizers, to include volunteers! Job well done!
